Who: Anyone can enter! 

What: Enter your artwork in this contest for the chance to win up to $500 in Olyhant Gift Cards and have your artwork shown in our shop for Spring 2023 Olympia Arts Walk! 

The theme of the contest is “Hidden Details.”

We want you to create artwork that the viewer has to take a closer look at to get the full picture. This theme is just a jumping off point, remember to let your imaginations go wild!

When: Entries due Friday, March 24th 2023 11:59 pm.

How: Email a photo of your submission to 2023artcontest@olyphant.store 

Make sure to include in your email: 

1) A picture of your artwork 

2) Your name

3) Artwork name

4) Artwork size

5) Medium(s) used

Submission Rules:

  1. You may send in more than one submission, but only one piece will be chosen per artist.
  2. Artwork must be equal to or smaller than 18” x 24”
  3. Digital artwork is welcome, but needs to be printed so it can be displayed in-person.
  4. If you win, your artwork must be ready to hang before April 1st 2023, either with attached hardware or be a stretched canvas with thick enough stretcher bars to be hung from a nail.
  5. Artists who enter must be ok with us showing your artwork on our social media platforms and in-store for community judging and event promotion purposes.

How Judging will work:

First Judging Round: We will pick 3 finalists and 3 honorable mentions by March 31st 2023. These artists will be invited to show their artwork in our shop during the month of April for Olympia Arts Walk. 

We will judge based on: 

  • Overall creativity 
  • How you use the theme
  • Quality of work

Second Judging Round: During the month of April we will ask the community to vote on who will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place out of the three finalists.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place: $500 Olyphant Gift Card
  • 2nd Place: $300 Olyphant Gift Card
  • 3rd Place: $200 Olyphant Gift Card
